Each of the MCAT’s four sections has a scaled score range from 118 - 132. The sum of these four section scores produces a total score in a range from 472 - 528.
The average total score on the MCAT is centered around 500 and most students are aiming for a total score above 510 to be competitive for most medical schools in North America. Of course, a competitive score will vary by school so always check with the admissions site of the medical school you are interested in applying to.
It’s also important to score consistently well across all four sections of the MCAT so make sure to prep well for every section!
